Before the full moon

The moon is vague, hidden by the cloudy mist
and everyone is waiting for the comet
to fall, fall in their consciousness.

Soundless little houses
and no answer on the door.
I keep knocking and knocking…

I could walk back and forth for hours
like a clock
ticking to nothing but the whole future.

The day is over.
Why keep looking for other doors?
No comet has yet fallen
but since the clocks have stopped;
the day is over
I am facing at the wall.
